I'm Back!

So I had a great trip out to Montana. It was nice and relaxing, and great to see friends and people from church. My friend Laurie had to work pretty much the whole week, but she works in the morning and is usually done around noon, so that still gave us plenty of time to do things. Kevin from Billings came out one day and we all went down to the Yellowstone River and went swimming. At first Laurie and I hiked along the bank kinda part way in the water and on the rocks, but then a snake popped up out of the water from under a rock right when I was about to step there, so that was enough of the hiking bit. We went to the boat launch area where there is just sand, and swam there. Kevin spent most of the time looking for rocks. Laurie and I helped with that a bit. Laurie and I also had a chance to go camping up in the Crazy Mountains. Unfortunately we couldn't build a campfire due to a fire restriction since there were 2 fires in the area since it's so dry out there right now. We still had a lot of fun, and went for a hike up to the waterfall. Unfortunately the week came to an end, and I had to leave. It was a long drive out to Montana, and an even longer drive back. Of course I did have to have one glitch during the trip, and that was that on my way home, I blew a tire. That was fun. Especially since I was on the highway, and so when I pulled over to the side of the road to get the spare on, I had to unpack my entire trunk to get to the spare. So there I am on the side of the road with all my stuff out on the ground next to the car, and me laying on the ground trying to change the tire. I got it done though, loaded everything back up, and drove to the next town to get a new tire put on. I was still in South Dakota at the time, so there was a lot of driving to be done still that could not be done on a spare. So that was in a nut-shell my trip. I did take some pictures, and once I have them done they will be in the Montana album.

So now it's been back to work, but I also started classes at IUSB (Indiana University South Bend) on Monday. I have Japanese on Monday and Wednesdays and History of the Civil War on Thursday evenings. My Japanese teacher is hysterical and a lot of fun. I'm really going to enjoy that class. I haven't had my history class yet, but the first class is tomorrow, so I'll let you know what that one is like later.

Well hope everyone was doing well while I was gone, and enjoy the rest of your week!

Sounds like you had a fantastic trip - with the exception of the whole snake-popping out thing - Danger!

Glad you're back safe and sound! Let me know how those classes go! :)

Hi Amanda!

Sounds like you had fun in Montana! Kim and I want to go there soooo bad! I know a few people in Missoula, so we might have a place to stay. My parents used to live there also! Check out my new blog when you get the chance: www.paintingpilot.blogspot.com

Hope all is well!
