Nothing New

I know I really haven't posted in a while, so I wanted to write something. However, there really is nothing to report on. I had my first official day with my new part time job. I've worked a few hours prior, but only to help with inventory because they needed some extra hands. It will be a fun job for a little extra income. Everyone so far seems nice and a lot of fun.

I will say one cool thing that happened yesterday while working at Buyco, is that my hold french horn instructor came in. That was really cool because I don't think I'd seen her up till then for about 8 years or so. We were always close, so I was bummed to kind of lose contact, so it was good to reconnect and hear what all was going on with her and her kids right now.

In other news, my brother and Beth have been planning their wedding. It is going to be May 26th, which is exactly the 1 year anniversary of their first date. Not sure if I mentioned this before. I will be a brides maid, so that will be a lot of fun to be able to participate in the wedding that way. It has also pushed me to really start dieting and be strict with it this time, as I would like to lose some weight before the wedding. :o)

Well I guess thats about it. Hope everyone has a great week!

New Job!

Well I just got a part time position working for a store called BuyCo. I will be working there a few evenings a week and then on the weekends. I applied for the job once before, and while I was perfect for the job, my schedule just did not coincide with the hours they needed help. Now that my hours our different with class an all it worked out well. For those of you wondering what BuyCo is, it is a store that sells all used DVDs, CDs, Video Games, and Game Systems. It's a cool store. The bonus is that as an employee you get 50% off everything. :o) I just have to make sure I don't spend all the paycheck in the store. LOL Anyways I'm excited, and the need me to start right away because they are working on inventory and could use an extra set of hands. However, I won't officially be on the schedule for regular hours until November. So thats my exciting news. :o)

Japanese OnLine

Since I am studying Japanese, I decided to look for some websites that might help teach Japanese. You know, just for a little extra help or something. Well I came across this really cool site called Japanese Online. I have created a link for it under my links column for anyone interested in checking it out. The really cool part of it, is that you can look for pen-pals that are learning Japanese or who speak it, and are willing to help you in exchange for you helping them with English. I think a great way to really get into the language is to just keep trying to speak it with someone, and have them speak it back, and get help with anything you may not understand. There are also a lot of lesson's on the site for helping you learn the language, and the lessons are actually very good. I looked at a number of them. There are a lot of neat things on the site, so I encourage everyone to check it out. The best part is that it is a free site! :o) Enjoy!

YAY!!

It's official! My brother is now engaged to be married. The family pretty much knew this was coming at some point, but now since it is official I can post it on my blog. Myself, and the rest of my family is very excited and happy for my brother and his fiance, Beth. My brother popped the question Saturday night this past weekend. What is funny is that he had just picked up the ring on Saturday, and I guess he just couldn't wait. They went to the Notre Dame game (which was an awesome game by the way, of course ND won), and then they went to an Irish pub called Fiddler's Hearth. According to my brother it was just perfect, as that is where they went on their 2nd date, and the band playing was just like the band playing when they went there the first time. Get this, I guess the Friday before, he even asked Beth's father for his Blessing to marry Beth. What a guy! :o) So that is the exciting news for the weekend. Nothing exciting happened with me. I went to a funeral for a church member that passed away, then went home and cleaned my apartment, had some friends over that night, and then Sunday got up and went to church. After having lunch with my family we all went apple picking. Then I went swimming Sunday night. That was pretty much it. It was a full weekend, but nothing all that exciting other then my brother's big news. Well hope everyone else had a great weekend!

Updates

I know it has been a while since I have posted. I am slacking. There really has not been a whole lot going on. This past Friday my family and I left to go to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin for my cousin Luke's wedding. The wedding was not until 4:00p.m. on Saturday, but we all took Friday off and left that morning so that we could stop at some outlet malls on the way up, and then shop in town at Lake Geneva that afternoon/evening. Lake Geneva is a cute town with lots of neat little shops. It was a relaxing day Friday, and morning on Saturday. My mom and I went swimming in the hotel pool since it was indoors. The wedding on Saturday afternoon was very nice, however my grandpa decided he wanted to make things more exciting by passing out before the wedding started. Thankfully he was okay (we had the paramedics come to check him out), and it was just that he had been standing on his feet for too long. After the wedding we all went to the reception, which was on a boat out on the lake. We headed home Sunday afternoon. Little did we know though, that there was more excitement still to come. As we were on the interstate I-94, there was a semi truck up ahead that lost a huge hunk of retread. I was with my parents in their car, and my brother and his girlfriend were in his Miata behind us. Well the car in front of my dad, all of a sudden swerved out of the way of this retread, and did not leave us any time to avoid it, so we ran over it. It took off part of our bumper from my parents car, and then when my brother swerved to avoid it, we swerved so hard that he actually lost control of his car and he did 360's across the interstate and collided with the cement wall in the median. Luckily he and his girlfriend, Beth, were both fine, and the car was not damaged horrible. We were just very lucky that traffic was light enough at that one time while my brother was spinning out that he was not hit. He definately had an angel watching over him.

In other news my classes are going very well. I am enjoying my Japanese a lot, and would really love to get fluent enough that I could be a translater in the U.S. or Japan, or maybe even go to Japan to teach english.

That is about all for now, and I hope you all have a great week!
