Not much excitement

So I had this weekend off for a change. Imangine that. It turned out not to be all that exciting either, so that was kind of a bummer. I did get to sleep in on Saturday which was very nice. I took my time getting ready, fed Trogdor (can't just leave a dish in there like with the rats), went to the bank, got some lunch, came back, and pretty much did nothing. Susan and Emily came over wanting to go swimming, but I had just taken a shower and washed my hair, so I really did not want to get it all full of chlorine. Emily was of course dissapointed, and really tried to lay on the guilt trip think, as any 6 year old would of course, but I turned it back around, and promised to take her out for ice-cream when they got done. That immediately got a big smile and hug. I'm so good. ;o) So of course Emily and I went and got ice-cream. Well we didn't just go to cheezey ole' Dairy Queen, nope, I went all out and took her to Cold Stone Creamery. They have really good ice-cream to begin with, but what they do is you get to pick out your flavor, and then pick out what you want them to mix in it, like butterfingers, peanutbutter cups, snickers, heath bars, chocolate chips, graham crackers, etc. Well Emily got purple cotten candy flavored ice cream with sprinkles mixed in. Me, I had the Peanut Butter cup lovers special. It is chocolate ice cream with peanute butter, chocolate syrup, and peanut butter cups all mixed in, and they do it there right on the counter in front of you with like these metal spatulas. It's pretty cool. So that was pretty much my Saturday.
Today after church we did have a potluck out at my parents. It was kind of a get-to-know-you type potluck for our new pastor and his wife. A few people from the church come and then our pastor and his wife. Some of the families from the congregation have been hosting them each Sunday after church. It was nice, just too bad it has been rainy all day long. Later this evening my parents, brother, and I went and saw "Firewall" with Harrison Ford in it. That was actually really good. Better then I thought it would be. I give it 2 thumbs up. Not it's off to clean the rat cages. So that's my exciting weekend. I hope everyone else had an enjoyable one!

Trogdor

So this Sunday my friends Susan, Steve, their daughter Emily, and I went down to a convention in Indianapolis. It featured small animals, mostly reptiles, but there were all sorts of things there. Even weird exotic things like apossoms and hedge hogs. We were really fascinated by the reptiles, which is why we mainly wanted to go. Steve and I have had this facination lately with Bearded Dragons. They are very cool lizards native to Australia. I had previously always thought an Iguana would be cool to have some day, but after finding out about these Bearded Dragons, these are way cooler. First of all, they are much easier to maintain, way more friendlier, and have more personality. They never bite, and just love to be held. They will just chill with you. Like if you get them out to hold you can just hold them on your arm or in your lap, and they will just chill there. Well at this show/convention thing I got a great deal on a setup for one, and I got a baby one. I couldn't resist. Well I probably should have and could have, but he/she was just too cool (I say he/she cause they are too hard to sex as babies). I've named it Trogdor and those of you who are familiar with HomeStarRunner.com will know why. It was named Max for about a day, but I changed it to Trogdor. I have taken a few pictures and started a Trogdor album that you can check out. Keep in mind it is just a baby. If anyone wants to know what they look like when they get big just type in Bearded Dragon in a google search and you will find out. I'm sure my mom will be thrilled to find out I have another pet. Although I don't think she will mind this as much since it is not smelly and it's in a tank instead of a messy cage like my rats.

In other news I have found out I will NOT have to have surgery on my knee, so I'm very glad for that. I have been having problems with it still after my car accident in December, and just saw an orthopedic doctor, and after doing an MRI and then another XRay, he has determined it does not need surgery. It does still have some stuff going on in there, but he feels it can be treated with more continued physical therapy and medicine. I'm thankful for that.

Well I hope you all have a good continued week! :o)

Day Off

So today I have the day off. It was a surprise, but a nice one of course. Yesterday I learned that since it is kind of slow right now at work they have decided to give us a day off during the week if we work on the weekend. Well I work this Saturday so I had my choice of having today, Thursday or Friday off. Well since I was going to have to leave work a couple hours early today anyway for an MRI on my knee I said well I will just take today off. It worked well that way. Sides I'm already getting extra Holiday pay for this week anyway from Easter. Also I think it's supposed to be a nice day out today so that should be nice.

Well I think I made the mistake of giving my rats new toys to play with as last night they kept waking me up off and on as they were playing with them. They are just 2 like plastic balls with rattles or bells inside, but of course then they make noise. I'm thinking I may have to take them out of the cage at night when I'm sleeping. Of course that may be kind of mean though since rats are nocturnal and that is when they will want to play with them the most. Hmmmmmm.

Anyways, I think I will go and enjoy my day off. Hope everyone else has a good one as well!

New Pictures

So I have added a few pictures of my new babies to the Rat album. Be sure to check them out as they are very cute. They are Rack, Shack, and Benny. :o) You can be sue that more pictures will follow in the near future.

I have also finally got pictures up of my new car. There is a new "Car" album to the left that you will want be sure to check out and see my other new baby. It has been a lot of fun driving it. I was very upset today though, as yesterday I got it washed because it really needed it and it was a gorgeous day out. However, then it decided to rain late last night, and sprinkled a little this afternoon, and it appears it could rain some more. Not cool for a clean car.

Well be sure to check out all my new pictures. I hope everyone has a great Easter weekend!

3 New Babies!

Man I have got to get back in the habit of posting on my blog! To all my regular visitors, I'm very sorry I have been slacking lately. I'm going to try and get back into somewhat daily posts.

So, as of last night I have 3 new very adorable babies. No, these are not your typical little bundles of joy that you bring home from the hospital, but rather cute little furry ones with very long tails that you bring home from the pet shop. Yep! I got 3 very cute new little baby rats! I have missed my rats in Montana so much, and now that I have my own place again I decided to get some more. They are all boys. I originally only intended to get 2 because rats do not like to be alone, but the pet shop only had 3 left (and they were all brothers from the same litter), so I could not very well get 2 and leave 1 there all by it's lonesome wondering what happened to his brothers. I mean that would be just cruel!! Therefore, I had to get all 3 of them. Besides, they were all just adorable. I decided to name them Rack, Shack, and Benny after of course the Veggie Tales characters from one of my favorite videos. Those are the shortened names for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from the Bible. You know, makes it easier on kids to say and still learn the story. Anyways, did I mention how cute my new boys are? I will have to get pictures and post them in my rat album I have here on the site. My mom will of course be so thrilled to learn I have new rats . . . she just loves them (this is a sarcastic tone).

On another note my friend Laurie's sister and husband just had their very first baby. Little baby Ben. Now he is a real baby that you do bring home from the hospital, not a pet shop. I got to see pictures and he is very cute. He was born this past Sunday 4/9 and weighed a very healthy 7 lbs 7 oz, and had a full head of hair. Laurie's sister, Kristie, is doing fine. She had to have a C-section, as baby was too big for tiny Kristie, but everything went great.

Well that is pretty much my big news. Hope everyone has been doing well. TTFN!

New Apartment

I didn't realize how long it has been since I've made a post. I have to start getting back on top of things! Anyways this weekend I moved into a new apartment. I'll tell you what, it is always fun and exciting to have a new place, and place of your own. However all the work to get all your stuff moved in there is certainly NOT any fun. Luckily I had the help of my parents, and my brother for part of the time. Unfortunately he had a big project at work this weekend, and was not able to stay around. I do also have some very nice friends from work that came over to help me (I promised them free pizza). It took a few big van loads to get the major stuff over, and then some car loads back and forth for other trips of boxes here and there. Saturday I just basically got everything moved into the apartment. I didn't really get a whole lot actually set up, or much unpacked. That is what I spend yesterday (Sunday) doing. I got a lot done. Especially with the help of my mom working in my kitchen for me, and getting that all unpacked and set up. Everything looks pretty well set up now, except for a few things still. It's been a very tiring weekend, and I'm extremely sore. I went into physical therapy this morning, and couldn't wait to get that heat wrap on my knee. Well, that was my weekend. Hope everyone enjoyed theirs, and had as much fun as I did!
