Getting There

Well my new car is getting there. It's coming along, and I'm looking forward to the day I get to take it out for it's first spin. It got dropped off this Friday, and really getting my first good look at it and sitting in it, I was amazed at how clean it was. It was literally like a brand new car. It even still had that new car smell to it on the inside. I mean considering it is a 2004 you would expect it to have maybe some slight wear on the inside, but no. I mean it is spotless. Although it's hardly been driven cause I mean it does only have 8,000 miles on it. Then I realized one reason why it's so clean and fresh on the inside and that was cause it used to be an Enterprise rental car, so that makes sense. I've been trying to help my dad with what I can as he works on it. Mostly I've probably just been keeping him company. I did help with a couple things though. Some things we just can't do on it yet cause not all the parts have come in. Thats kind of a bummer. Oh well. Soon though, I hope.

Tomorrow morning I get to get up at the butt crack of dawn so that I can go start physical therapy for my knee from my car accident. Yippee. *note the sarcastic tone* I have to go to the hospital for it, and since I work 8:00a.m. - 5:00p.m., I have to go before I go into work. Blah.

Well that is pretty much the excitement here. Hope everyone had a good weekend. I know I have been bad about posting scripture readings lately, but I promise to get back on that. Everyone have a fantabulous week and keep popping in now and then! :o)

New Pastor

I am very excited to report that our church has found a new pastor. As you may remember our pastor retired back in September and our church has since been taking the necessary steps to find the right candidate to be our new pastor. Three Sundays ago Rev. Kevin Brintnall and his wife, Karen came up from Florida to preach at our church and to fellowship with the congregation at a potluck afterwards so that we could have a chance to get to know him and his wife. This way we could get a feel for if he would be right for our church. Then last Sunday we did a congregational vote as to if we wanted to call him to be our new pastor. Well I am happy to report that it was a unanimous vote for yes. Rev. Brintnall was then notified that we did want him to be our new pastor. Today at church we found that he accepted our call, and will be making the move up here to Indiana to be with us about the middle of March. This is of course because he needs to give his current church in Florida sufficient notice. I think Rev. Brintnall and his wife will be a very nice match for the church as I think he will bring some change, but not a whole lot real fast, and not any more then what is desired by our congregation. Also his wife Karen seems like she very involved at their current church and previous churches or positions, and it will be great to have her involved her as well since Nancy, our previous pastor's wife was so involved and close to the church. It will be very exciting, and I look forward to seeing what all happens in the church with our new pastor, Rev. Kevin Brintnall.

Random Things

It's been a while since I've posted anything. Just haven't had a whole lot going on. I've been working, and then just chillin out at home basically. I'm way addicted to my new Sims 2 game that I got for Christmas. It's quite pathetic really. Now that I have my laptop I'll just relax on the couch watching t.v. and playing my computer. I've got to get back into my reading because I got some great new books that I wanted. I've been reading some on my breaks at work, but not as much when I'm at home that I used to.

I'm very excited to get my new car on the road. It's not ready yet, and I wish it were. I've been driving my poor wrecked Suzuki. At least it's drivable, and my dad actually doesn't have it looking all that bad. The bumper is still looking a little crooked and beat up, and it still has a nice whole in the front where it's missing the grill, but other then that you really wouldn't have known it had been all smashed up. My dad does good work.

So my friends Susan and Steve called me last night to brag that they got the new XBox 360 and they were playing Project Gotham 3. Project Gotham is the best racing series games ever. We always played 1 or 2 on the regular XBox, and had been seeing previews of the new one for the new 360 system. They were rubbing it in of how cool it was. Thats okay, I'll just go over there and kick their butts on it whenever I'm over there next, probably this weekend. I always kicked their butts before. LOL ;o)

My friend Laurie is basking in the sun in Florida. No fair. Wish I could be there. She is down visiting her sister and brother in law. They had just recently moved down there last year. Her sister is pregnant with their first baby. Everyone is very excited. Laurie is going to go down for a few months in the summer to live with them and help take care of the baby. She is pretty excited about that. I'm excited for her cause I think it will be a good experience for her, and good for her to spend time with her sister.

Well I best be getting back to work. I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Happy New Year!!!

I haven't posted in a while. I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year's celebration. Mine was pretty good. I spent the weekend over at my friends' Susan and Steve and their daughter Emily. It kinda stunk Saturday night though cause Steve was sick, so he wasn't much in the partying mood. Then after our midnight and we rang in the New Year Susan started not feeling so hot, and she got sick later that night, or I guess you would say early in the morning. So Sunday I went home and spent the morning and most of the afternoon while they got feeling better and then went back. Then it was all good on Sunday and Monday. Well that is until we had our Fiesta Bowl party and watched Notre Dame get beat by Ohio State. It was very sad. We were all excited to get to see Notre Dame in the bowl. We thought they had a good chance, which they did if they played they like been playing and we know they could play, but they didn't, and Ohio State was definitely on their game. Granted Ohio State was ranked higher and the favored team. At least we didn't get crushed. We did make the first touch down. :o) It was still very sad.

Yesterday I got a new car. I'm very excited of course. It's the newest car I've ever owned. Probably the most practicle too. LOL It's a 2004 Dodge Neon, and it's black, so it looks sharp. Well at least it will once my dad finishes working on it. It has some front end body damage, but that is how you get it so cheap. :o) Plus where we got it from, they have the parts for it, and having a dad for a mechanic is nice. He'll have it looking brand spanking new. It's only got 8,000 miles on it too, so thats sweet.

My previous car looks kind of sad. My dad has done a good job of piecing back together the front after my accident. Pretty much everything that got damaged on the front has been replaced and pieced back together. The bumper is back on, headlights, fender, and hood (only the hood is purple now, and the car is silver LOL). The only thing missing is the grill, so there is this big hole in the front. LOL At least is still runs and drives fine, so hopefully can still get something out of it. Of course it won't be as much as it would have been before the wreck. Oh well, so life goes some times.

Well, again, I hope everyone had a good New Years celebration, and I wish many good things for you throughout this new year of 2006!! :o)
