The Beginning of a New Pastor

This Sunday was the first Sunday we had our very own Pastor Kevin Brintnall for service, joined by his wife Karen. It was Pastor Brintnall's installation into office as our new Pastor. A very exciting day for the church, and everyone has been waiting for this day. While many people of course still miss our former Pastor, we look forward to the things to come with the leadership and guidance of Pastor Kevin and Karen Brintnall.

We celebrated after service with a delicious potluck. There was so much food that I had a hard time figuring out what to put on my plate. We had a huge cake brought in, and all the kids were just waiting for that to be cut in to.

I hope that the Brintnalls know how much they are welcome here, and we want them to be a part of our church family. I will enjoy getting to know them more.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy St. Patrick's Day. Especially to all of you Irish. I have no big plans for the day, although I can tell you my brother will be spending the day at his favorite pub, Fiddler's Hearth. You know, he would have never known about that place if I had not taken him there once. Now he can't get enough of it. It really is a neat place. They have live Irish bands that come in and play on the weekends, and they have it set up inside just as if you were in a real Irish pub, and they serve great authentic Irish meals as well. Of course they serve traditional american meals also. Anyways, of course on St. Patrick's Day, they throw a huge bash. They are jam-packed starting around noon and going all through the night. Of course my brother is there all day long. He's so weird. He's got buddies coming from out of town though this weekend to join him. I may try and stop by after work. That is, provided I can get in the door.

No other big plans for me this weekend. I have to work Saturday. Then one of these days I am going to have to start packing things up as I get ready to move into my new apartment on the 1st of April. I've only got this weekend and next weekend before I move. Woohoo! I'm looking forward to it though. It will be nice to have a space of my own again.

Well I hope everyone enjoys their St. Pattie's Day and has a good weekend!

Birthday Bash

So this Saturday was my friend Susan's birthday, and for her birthday I had bought tickets for her and I to go to this big concert being put on by WFRN radio station. It's a Christian radio station in this area. It was a large group of Christian artists, and who is one of my absolute favorites, so I had been very excited about this concert. Bebo Norman was one of the artists. I absolutely love him!!! Such awesome music, and he's such a cutie too! LOL :o) Caedman's call was also there, as well as Aaron Shust, and John David Webster. Plus it was being hosted by Geoff Moore, so he performed throughout the night as well. It was really such an awesome and uplifting concert. Susan and I had such a good time. First we went to dinner though at T.G.I Fridays where of course I had to let them know it was her birthday. You know it was my obligation as a friend. LOL So they brought out about 6 or 7 balloons and tied them to her arms. Since she has short hair they didn't bother tieing them to her hair like they often do. Of course I got this evil look from Susan. I don't know why. I mean it was her birthday what was I supposed to do?? The best part though was when they brought out her desert and a whole bunch of the staff came out to sing Happy Birthday, and they shout to the whole restaurant who she is and that she is here for her birthday. *sighs* Ahhhhhh . . . . it was a priceless moment. All in all it was a very awesome night, and we had so much fun. The concert went a long time, but we didn't care. I tried to take pictures the best I could with the camera in my phone. I didn't want to bring my regular camera because I was not sure if pictures would be allowed. I created an album though that you can take a look at with some of the better pictures. They would have come out better if they didn't have a bright light always shining directly on the main performer, but they did have some really cool light effects throughout the concert. Anyways, that was pretty much my weekend. Hope all of yours was just as good!

The Warehouse Sale Returns!

So last Thursday and over the weekend our company, Woodwind & Brasswind, was doing this huge blowout warehouse sale. It was in a way like a liquidation sale as well. We were taking a lot of products that we had that maybe had minor blemishes to them, or brand new products that were sample products, or discontinued products, or products that we had overstock on, and marking them down ridiculously cheap. I bought a ridiculous amount of stuff at this sale, I mean like a crap load of stuff! I bought myself a matching set of congas and bongos. Really nice tunable wood ones. Absolutely nothing wrong with them. Not a mark on them. They are gorgeous dark red ones. I got a deluxe leather gig bag for my french horn that I had been wanting, but didn't want to spend the $160.00 they normally cost, so I thought the $20.00 it cost me was really nice. :o) I got myself a second trumpet! LOL and 2 new mouthpieces. I bought an oboe for someone at church that has been wanting to play. I told you it's crazy! Then as if it wasn't enough, since the sale was so successful they decided they are going to do it again this weekend!! AAAAHHHHH!!! As if I hadn't already spent enough money!!! They are going to suck me in again I just know it. Luckily I don't work on Saturday. I will only be around it tomorrow, and since I have to work my only chance to go down there will be during my break. Surely I can't do much damage in the period of like 15/20 minutes right? (yeah right) I'm just going to have to say a prayer that God keeps me under control. lol

This weekend I have concert tickets for Saturday for a huge Christian artists concert. One of my favorites, Bebo Norman is going to be there. I'm so excited. He is the main reason I got the tickets. Also Caedman's Call, who is very good as well. I like them. It's being hosted by Jeff Moore, and a couple other groups are going to be there too that I'm not as familiar with, but when I heard the preview of their music I did recognize some of the songs, so I think it will be a really good concert. I'm taking Susan for her Birthday. Her birthday is on Saturday. Happy Birthday Susan!!!!!! :o) WFRN, the radio station promoting the concert and selling the tickets called me Monday this week and gave me 2 more tickets for free, so that is really cool, so we are taking 2 more people as well, but don't know who yet.

Anyways, thats whats going on here. I will give you all the scoop as to how I survive the sale, and how the concert goes on Saturday. Have a good weekend!!!

Pride and Prejudice

This weekend I had to work on Saturday, but Friday night my mom felt like going to the movies so we went to the dollar theater and saw "Pride and Prejudice". The movie had just came out on DVD, but it was still showing in the theater. It has been at the dollar theater for a while now, so we didn't think it would be all that packed . . . boy were we wrong!!! That theater was packed full and there was not an empty seat in the house! We were lucky to find 2 seats together cause we got there right when the previews started. Anyways, the movie was sooooooo good!! I loved it. I recommend everyone go and see it. I didn't really do anything else all that exciting this weekend. Yesterday I watched an all day "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" Marathon on TV. I was addicted. LOL It was pathetic. I didn't do anything else all day. Now I'm exhausted because I stayed up till midnight watching it, and I had to get up at 6:00a.m. to go to physical therapy before coming into work. Oh well, it is my own fault. Well I hope everyone else had a good weekend!
